10 months old

Molly turned 10 months old on December 16th but I'm just now getting this post done.

This month Molly has been a very busy little girl:
- Eating 2 containers of food, 3 times a day
- Eats 2-3 6 oz. bottles a day and one 8 oz bottle at night.
- Still wears size 3 diapers
- Graduated to the "big girl carseat" - We got the Graco MyRide 65...just one for my car but we are about to invest in a cheaper one for Justin's
- Sleeps 10 - 12 hours a night...most of the time
- Takes 2 hour to hour and half long naps per day.
- Plays hard
- Says words "mama", "dada", "nana" "ba" (ball), "Ca" (cat)
- Drinks from a sippy cup - all be it, not well...
- Wears mostly size 12 month clothes with a few 18 months thrown in
- Wears size 3 or 4 shoe
- Still has 8 teeth but we think she's trying to cut the back molars
- Cruises on EVERYTHING, but has yet to stand or walk on her own...and that's just fine with me.
- LOVES the outlets!
- LOVES bathtime...still!

I'm sure I'm missing something..but time for pictures!

I cannot express how much I love this little girl...she is the sunshine of my life...I'm so blessed!
God Bless!!

Molly's First Christmas and an update...finally!

WARNING: PICTURE HEAVY POST!!!
I know...it's been a while...things have been busy as I'm sure they have for you guys too! It feels like I haven't stopped since...well October...basketball is kinda wearing me out. It's always been busy and stressful but this year has been extra trying. With Molly being around, and my team being a little more, for a lack of a better word, trying...the blog has been the last thing on my priority list. For example, my last game before break was on last Monday. It was in Camdenton... an hour and 45 minutes away from home...talk about sucking...

A lot of things have come and gone...I will get to those things later...first I would like to tell you guys about our 3 person family's first Christmas...

Christmas started for us on Wednesday last. We had a little get together with Justin's extended family. His 86 year old grandmother is in the nursing home but we still try and get together every once and while and try and stay close. There are 4 little ones so they keep us entertained. (Our nieces, Hannah 4 1/2, and Claire 2 1/2, baby Grayden, 1 and Miss Molly, 10 months) Molly got her SECOND ear infection last week, so she looks a little rough. (She had green goop coming out of her eye ducts...totally GROSS!)
It was her first experience opening presents and, to tell you the truth, she really wasn't into it. By the end of the weekend, she got to liking pull the paper out of the bags...but that's it...

Molly did, however, like to play in the paper....

On Thursday night, our very best friends Shaun and Nicole came over and gave Miss Molly her presents...they came over around bathtime so Molly was only in her diaper...it turned out pretty cute though...

We spend Christmas Eve with Justin's family. We switch off every year (although, I think that has come to an end...you'll see why laster). We played games, ate dinner (YUM!) and around 8, we went to Christmas Eve service at church. It was especially exciting because Justin, Molly and I had been asked to light to first advent candle...the cangle of HOPE...I read and Justin and Molly lit the candle. I was stressed but very excited at the same time. We got home and the girls (Hannah, Claire and Molly) opened their Christmas pj's from Mammaw. They were totally adorable...we tried to get a picture of the three of them in front of the tree...

You can see how well that worked...LOL!

We got up Christmas morning at Justin's parent's house and opened presents with them...I got some pretty great presents...all things I asked for: a new Bible, some plasticware, a new watch and a few gift cards that I asked for..Ann Taylor, Kohl's, Peir 1. We were very blessed.

All 3 girls got baby dolls and we tried (again) to get a pic of all three of them in front of the tree...LOL...

Here's where the REAL fun starts...from Justin's parents' house, we headed home to take showers, unload the car, unpack, repack, reload the car and drive to Gainsville, Missouri (1 1/2 hour) away to go to my Pa Joe's mom's house by 1 pm (Granny Lyndell), then to my Mimi and Pa's house that night, then to Calico Rock, Arkansas (1 hour south of Gainsville) by 9ish to spend time with my dad's family (Grandma and Granddad Perryman)

All went pretty wwell up until this point...I forgot the bag with the bottles and formula at my Mimi's house in Gainsville. We realized it when we got to Calico...an hour away. I flipped at this point...some would say that I went a little nuts. Justin and I jumoed in the car and headed to Mt. Home (1/2 way) to meet my Mimi and Pa...me crying to whole way there. By the time we got back to Calico, it was 10:30, Molly was still up and Justin and I were both beat. We went ot bed and tried to decompress.

We got up on Sunday morning and went to church with my grandma and granddad. My brother sang with the choir (no, he doesn't live down there). We got to visit with my Papa Bill (my mom's dad) later that day and then that afternoon, after a long Molly nap, we opened presents with my parents. Again, I was very blessed. Having picked out most of my presents, I knew what I was getting: boots, Big Star jeans (my first pair of my own). But I was also pleasently surprised: a pair of Northface fleece pants (that I wanted but mom wouldn't buy) and my bro got me a Dutch oven. We are so blessed.

Granddad and Nana with Miss Molly

Our little family...Justin and Molly matched..I didn't :(

Miss Molly's Christmas dress.
Dress, bow, and tights: Dillard's
Shoes: Macy's
We spent another night at my parent's cabin in Calico Rock, on the White River...it's the bomb. Monday morning we went and Molly got her first haircut. (Post coming later) Then, we came home. It was a stessful Christmas and it was a good Christmas.

We hope all of you had a great Christmas!
God Bless!

Blog Challenge Upate!

So listen...I had the best of intentions...and I will update the blog challenge...I SWEAR...it's just that this week has been rough on deal ole' Sara.

I think it all started last week...my last update was on Tuesday...I wasn't sure who my role model was. I have so many to choose from. Then, I had to actaully WORK during my off time at school....I know Really? (LOL) Witht the end of the semester coming, grading HAS to get finished and I was waaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy behind.

Then, Molly got a horrible diaper rash....her first...and hopefully her last. I'm not really sure how she got it...nothing has really changed. I obviously thought it must be something they were not doing at her daycare right...I went round and round with them at the end of last week....

Then I had a ball game on Friday night, Christmas shopping on Saturday (in the blue cold - thanks Canada for sending us some winter temps), then practice on Sunday, followed by more shopping.

Which brings us to this week...the COC tounrey...otherwise known as the conference tounrament...did y'all know I coached 7th grade girls' basketball...oh wait...I'm hosting said tounrey. NEAT!!

So...I'm putting off the remainder of the 30 day blog challenge until the weekend. I swear I will start again.... Sunday will be day 15 - My role model...

I think one of the important things to keep in mind is that being a mommy means that you have to flexible...I hope my readers can remain flexible with me...

God Bless!

P.S. Justin and I have a friend (actaully Justin's best man) who's mom is struggling with small cell lung cancer. It's in her liver, lymph nodes, spine, ribs and bone marrow. Please help us pray for the Ryker family and they find a way to cope with this hard time. (Especially around Christmas) Thanks!

Day 14: A Non-fiction Book

ummmmmm.... this is kinda weird b/c I'm not exactly sure if thuis means a non-fictional book that I'm just head over heels about...or what... so I'm going with the book

"Band of Brothers" by Stephen Ambrose.

Now, this is an interesting choice b/c some would argue that it's actually a fiction book. it's been decided that Ambrose "made up" a lot of what's in the book.

And...this is the book that was made into the 10 part series for HBO...you know that one that was produced by Tom Hanks and Stephen Speilberg. I LOVE THE BOOK AND THE SERIES!

I've seen the series a countless number of times and would show it in class if there was time and it didn't have so many "F" words.

If you know me personally, you know that I love World War II. When I get stressed out and have anxiety attackes (which I've been having more often these days), a secret of mine is to list world war I ans wwII generals. Weird I know...but I never claimed to be normal....

God Bless!

Day 13: A Fictional Book

I'm going to assume this means a fictional book that I am in love with.

I'm currently reading the Harry Potter Series for the first time. I LOVE it!

I'm reading the 6th book right now, the Half-Blood Prince.

I started this series actually watching the movies. I never had any desire to read the books. My brother, Sam, loves them and has read them a number of times (like 6).

I got mu hubbie started in the movies too and he decided after seeing the Half-Blood Prince movie that he needed to know what was going to happen before Novemebr of 2010 so he read the last book. (The Deathly Hallows)

He just raved about the book so he started the series over with book #1.

I shortly decided that I would read them too. I love them! I'm kinda sad that I'm going to be finished with the series in a book and a half.

I think I'm going to start reading the "True blood" series. (the Sookie Stackhouse) books.

What book are you currently reading?

God Bless!

Ugly Christmas Sweater Party

What a great looking group!!! I just LOVE this time of year!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Around our house...finally.

Last night we had our friends Christmas party (which made the game today a little more interesting). We had a lot of fun. It's the first one we've had and we decided to make it an ugly sweater party and a $10 gift card exchange. Lots of fun had by all!!

Nicole and her amazingly, awesome outfit!!! Kyle, Justin (my husband) and Shaun The girls I'll try to get some more up later. My SIL has the group pics on her camera....

Today, I had my fourth game of the week...we won by 4! A little too close for my comfort but after the 21 point loss on Thursday, I'll take the win!!

B/c of the party last night, Justin and I were both rather tired this afternoon but I was determined to get Molly's first Christmas going. So.....Justin got in the attic and pulled all the decorations down and we got to fancying up the house.

Here's the kicker, we wanted to do some arranging in the office and living room. Remember teh way the living room looked? If not, check it out HERE. Here's what it looks like now..............

We moved the light brown couch into the office. Since we have a tv in there, we thought it might be more condusive. PLUS...Molly has a bigger play area and less stuff to hurt her little noggin on. The bigger coffee table is going to storage. Here's the problem...we've got to find something to put in the "HOLE" when the Christmas tree comes down. Here's what I'm thinking. I've found a corner shelf at Target and Hobby Lobby that would fit. Then we could get a wing back chair of some sort.

Oh and we did finally put our Christmas tree up.

I love this time of year b/c it gives us all a chance to refocus our attention on the King, Jesus Christ. I bought this Nativity scene last year on the day after Christmas in Jouplin. 1/2 price...and I just love it. I want the setting up of this scene to become a tradition of our family.

And last but not least, my snowman collection (well part of it) I'm going to take some better pictures tomorrow and hopefully get a good one of Molly in front of the tree. I still don't have our Christmas card made, ordered or sent out. That's my goal for this week. We alos have plans to got to Silver Dollar City with my in-laws. It's supposed to be COLD so I'm not sure how long we'll stay.

I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend!!

God Bless!

Challenge Day 12: Something you are OCD about

I'm not really OCD about anything. I like to keep things clean and tidy but not in a compulsitory way. I live from day to day without any really huge interuptions. And I like it that way.

Nuff said...

5 Question Friday

I don't think I've ever particapated in this but since I'm a rol with the blogging these days...and one of my fave bloggers, Mallory, did it...I thought I would join in on the fun...check her out...so sweet...This fun little treat orignially come from My Little Life.

This week's 5 Question Friday is about Christmas. I'm trying to get myself in the Christmas mood...it's been a busy week but I'm really going to 'Christmas-fy" myself this weekend.

Here goes:

1. What's on the top of your holiday wish list and why?!
Honestly, I am asking for a lot of gift cards this year becasue of the possibly of moving. And I got what I wanted for my b-day in October which was a Kindle. I don't REALLY need anything right now. I put a Iphone 4 on my list...but the hubbie broke his screen this week so that looks like he's getting a new one. NBD...
I would also like a few new peices of luggage, and an electric skillet.
2. What is your favorite Christmas gift from the past?
A few Christmases ago, the hubbie got my a Dooney purse. That was great! Last year, we got a bunch of diapers and wipes, which are all gone now (we asked...Miss Molly asked for some more...tacky I know)
This year, Justin and I aren't getting each other anything...although his birthday is Dec. 16th, so he's actually getting something...not telling what just yet though...we are going to save that money and spend it on a new house.

3. If you had life to do over, what would you be when you grow up?
A doctor. I think if I could have gotten through all those math classes, I would have turned out to be a good doc. I loved college and thrived on the stress. I look back and some of my greatest times were while I was studying for finals or writing papers int he library.

4. When do you put up your tree?
Usually the week or weekend after Thanksgiving...not so much this year though.
We're going to work on it tomorrow after my basketball game thoguh...I'm so excited!!

5. What is your favorite Holiday?
Probably Christmas...with New Years added on too. I love this time of year. the weather turning colder...people are aloways (okay most of the time) in a great mood. The decorations are fabulous and the smells are always inviting!!
God Bless!

Challenge Day 11: A photo taken of you recently

Challenge Day 10: A photo of you from over 10 years ago

Okay...my dad has been posting some OLD pics on Facebook recently...Hence where I got this one from...so I was in luck and found some old pics on there...I wanted to pick one from high school when I had ORANGE hair...but sadly I couldn't find one. Funny stuff though!

Without further ado...here you go...

Me...hours old...that's my dear ol' daddy. He looks so tired...but I was tiny...

Me..with around 12ish...circa 1996...with my Aunt Brenda...I would like to point out a couple of things...

1. The AWESOME Airwalk shoes

2. The very stylish tapered jeans with the tucked in Tommy Hilfiger shirt

3. the cheesy grin...that screams..."DORK!"...

It's no wonder I didn't have a boyfriend

God Bless!

1st birthday ideas

So, it's December and in 2 1/2 SHORT months, I will have a one year old. And like any crazy mom, I'm already thinking about her birthday party! (She actaully shares a birthday with my dad. - Feb. 16th)
Along with my mom, I've been thinking about a "theme" for the party itself. Some ideas I've had are:
1. Cupcakes - to eat and as a theme
2. Pink Sock monkeys - I loved them as a kid but I've decided it won't be "foo, foo" enough.

But I'm not a huge fan of either of these...so...

After thinking for the past week or so... Strawberries
I'm a Zeta Tau Alpha and one of our symbols is strawberries. They have always been my favorite fruits. Here is the problem though...her birthday is in February. Strawberries aren't exactly in season...but It's not like I will be serving fresh ones, so it might work. And since technically, Molly is not supposed to have strawberries until age 2...(allergy in the hubbie's family), we won't serve her any either.
PLUS... we could make the colors red, green and white...that's almost valentine's day - e...

I know what you are thinking..."it sounds like she's already made up her mind..." but what do y'all think? Strawberries?
Or is there another theme out there that's I've not thought of?
God Bless!

Something uplifting for your day!!!

I've been doing some blog updating...as you can see. Totally decorated for the Christmas season...(it's the only thing that's decorated for Christmas - more on that some other time) Anywhoo..............I started following a new blog today... It's such a perfect day! Her blog is full of funny quirky things that make you feel good. But I digress...what's more important is that she introduced me to the webiste "Damn you Autocorrect" H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S!!! Rolling on the floor laughing funny stuff!

Check it out!!

Challenge Day 9: A Photo you took

I'm not really sure what is supposed to be in this post. So I'm going with this....I edited it using Photoshop...not really sure what I did though...That program is difficult...Enjoy! I need to get on the picture thing...maybe tonight! Keep a look out!

God Bless!!
