Top Two Tuesday...Deserted Island Fun

Over at the Undomestic Momma, this week's Top Two Tuesday is...

The Two things you would bring to a deserted island...via Survivor or something...and it an't be people...

(but just so are clear...I would bring my hubbie and daughter to the island :))

1. A Lighter - this is my "smart item" -WHY? - Duh... so I can start fires when i need to...

2. My pillow - b/c I'm not much of one to sleep on a flat floor or bed...

Since this was a short and quick post.... but oh so much fun.... I thought I would take a moment to update you on a couple of things...

1. I think I posted a while ago about starting Molly on a new formula...well it didn't go so good so we are back to Similac Advanced...and up to almost 6 oz. every 3 hours.

2. We started rice cerel last week and after 4 attempts...we are still FAILING!! What's the secret? She seems to HATE it! Should I try another flavor? Or just start her on a little banana or veggie?

God Bless!

In the photo Friday - another, better post

Hopefully, this is a better pic...

First time with solids...FAIL!!...But so cute!

Thursday, we tried some rice cerel...and while she throughly enjoyed being naked (of course) and getting dirty...I don't believe she got much in her mouth and down to her tummy. But we all had fun doing it and the pics turned out so cute!

Exhibit A
At first, we tried the Dr. Suess bib...she didn't really go for that...
So, we took it off...and she tried the cerel again...
"Okay, mommy, I'll try it..."
"I don't think so..."
"Dad...are you watching this? Why don't you tell her to stop?"
"I'm a little ham!!"

These pictures was after her bath...which she always loves!

"Oh, I'm shy and don't want my picture taken!"

We're going to try again tonight or tomrrow night...hopefully, it will get better!
God Bless!

In the Photo Friday

Over at Meredith's La Buena Vida, she's started a fun, little "project" to encourage herself and us (the momma bloggers) to put ourselves in more pictures and gain some body image. Mine is currently struggling a bit. I've list all but five pounds... but I'd really like to lose 15 more lbs. I'm still not back into my PP pants... but I'm getting closer. Really though, I'm struggling with my tummy. I've got stretch marks....and I loathe them. I invested in a one piece from Old Navy for Memorial Day wkend at the lake...and to my surprise, when I got there, I noticed that a one piece is not that much out of trend. But it got the job done and covered my stretch marks... but I digress.
The point of this is to take and post more pictures with me in them. I actually thought I had quite a few with Molly and I but I started looking on my computer and couldn't find many. The most recent is from Mother's Day in May. I mean, there are some with me in the side of the picture...but below is the most recent photo I have on my computer...so it will have to do for the first week. But this goes until September 1st so I will get better.

Notice, I didn't put my whole body in the pic...

God Bless!

Happy Father's Day!

Sunday, we celebrated Justin's first father's day by going to church, hangin out together, having dinner with our familys and our own fathers...and with Molly going "swimming" for the first time!

Molly's bow was made by the AWESOME Michellene at Princess Couture!! Check her out and make sure to check out Molly on her Princesses page!!

Molly got her daddy a couple of pairs of shorts, a pair of flippy floppies, a couple of polo shirts (which I need to exchange the next time I go to Branson) and a card...
She had just woken up from a nap, so that's why she's still naked and partially in her Woombie!
Then, we went "swimming"...we got her a little pool and I could fit in too b/c she's not quite ready to be in there by herself with one of us on the outside. (obviously, we would never leave her there by herself)
Please excuse my VERY white self...I haven't been outside much this year yet!! OBVIOUSLY!!

"Just chillin' mommy!!" She wasn't sure about it at first, but then she started splashing around and playing...
We are going to do it again soon! We LOVE the summer! (which is a good thing...b/c it is SOOOOOOO hot here in Springvegas!!)

What's in your purse?

I saw this fun post over at The Pieces of My Life, and I thought it would be a fun way for y'all to get to know me.

Currently, I'm carrying my Dooney & Bourke that Justin got for me a couple of Christmases ago...I would visit it at both Macy's and Dillard's in the weeks leading up to Christmas...and I was so surprised when I actually got it. The only problem with it: it's waaaaaayyyyyy heavy...even when there's not much in it. (Which is never the case)

Okay...so in my purse is a number of things that actually just found there way in there.

My wallet is a christmas present from my MIL and I love it. It was able to replace my heavier Dooney wallet...which i carry sometimes when I need a change.
The funny thing is...I don't really ever wear those sunglasses but I love them!!
Of course, the newest items in my purse belong to Molly - her sunglasses (which she hardly ever wears), an extra binkie (just in case) ans wipes. I always have a Starbucks gift card in there (but I can never find it when I got to Starbucks) and my umbrella. That comes in expecially handy in the rain...:) The pens at the bottom are my faves. I stole the Haruno pen...well, it was by accident the first time and I loved it so much that when the first ran out of ink...I "accidently" walked out with another in my purse...sorry!
The whote MAC bag has so random lip glosses, and breath strips. In the front pockets of my purse, I carry hand sanitizer, lotion and a lotion with hand sanitizer in it...prepared...

AND OF COURSE...my keys...those are only my car keys...see below for my other keys...

I have to carry these at work...so they are on a lanyard (spelling)

Usually, I put my car keys and the lantard so I don't lose them...Hope you enjoyed this fun little post.... I would like to know whats in your purse too...so leave a comment with your site so I can find out!!!

4 months old!!! I can't believe it!

Molly turned 4 months old today!! I can't believe it! Here's what Molly's up to these days:

*Wearing size 1 - 2 diapers.
*Using level 2 nipples and eating 5 oz. ever 2 - 4 hours.
*Rolls from her back to tummy regulary and would actually rather be on her tummy
*Wearing mostly 0 - 3 clothes, but some are too small and others are too big. (baby clothes are weird)
*Wearing size 1 or 2 shoes...depending (again) on the brand
*Still struggling with the sitting thing but getting better everyday
*Can support almost all of her own weight on her legs (but, of course, is wobbly...duh!!)
*Talking more and more everyday...she is saying a few vowel - consinent combos
*On her tummy, can push herself up and lock her arms (think yoga)
*Our night time situtation is: 9:30 to 2:30, then she eats, then it's back to sleep until about 6:00, then eat, back to sleep (usually with mommy - I know, bad mommy) then finally up about 8:30ish...maybe sometimes 9:00
*She catnaps all day long...20 - 30 minutes here and there...which sometimes makes for a cranky Molly if Mommy decides to shop or something...she sometimes naps for an hour or so around 12:00 or 1:00.

And without further ado...here's Molly's 4 month "photo shoot"...I live for days like this...

"Molly, it's not polite to lift up your dress!"

Dancing with Mommy "This bores me!" The SHOE shot! These totally cute shoes came form this shop on Etsy! I'm probably going to order some in a bigger size as she gets older!

I finally bought Molly a kiddie pool today so be prepared for that cuteness to come soon!!

The Scentsy

Over at Heidi's blog, As the Foreste Grows, she is hosting a very usegul and great giveaway. They are heat lamps that put out a scent. They are useful in homes with children b/c they are flameless and can be put up high away from the child's reach.

Head on over and enter in this awesome giveaway... she's great blogger momma....plus her daughter is soooooooo cute!!

Carrie, Craig and Sylvia

Last night, Justin and I celebrated the birth of our daughter Molly (Feb 16th, 2010) by leaving her with mammaw and pappaw and going to see Carrie Underwood, Craig Morgan, and Sons of Sylvia.
He got the tickets for me on Valentine's Day. I was so surprised b/c I thought we weren't getting each other anything for V-day. PLUS...I LOVE CARRIE!!

A short review:

Sons of Sylvia were awesome!!!!!! Please check them out on You Tube or on Itunes!! They were on American Idol so you might recongize them! They sound kinda irish country. Plus the three guys are ver sexy musician brothers...I'm assuming their mother's name is/was Sylvia. :)

Craig Morgan was great!! He was very entertaining...and I love his new song..."This is ain't nothing"...amazing...

Carrie was....she was... just.... there are no words to describe how she was...amazing, great, the best, inspiring... and I could go on and on...she was sang "How great Thou art" amd I got
goosebumps. I like her before the concert last night but now....she's one of my faves!!!

Thanks babe!!! I love you!!!

Random thoughts about life and the goings on in today's world!

You know, most of the time, you can ask and I'll tell you my opinion about anything...really...I'm an opinionated person. Anyone who is reading this that knows me, knows this is a very correct statement. But...I rarely ever talk about my opinions on things in my blog. I reserve it for the life of Molly... But there are some many things to talk about in today's life....So today, I thought I'd give you my opinion on a "hot topics" (not to take anything way from the ladies of the View). Be prepared...you can agree with me or not...I don't really care...but you can't deny that some (or most) of what I say is just the way it is... :)

1. I'll start with the most disturbing and "worst enviromental disaster in history". It's day 59 of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Pictures like the one below are all over the internet and the news and are some of the saddest pictures I've ever seen. You know, I think of myself as enviromentally conscience but not a huge one. I mean, I drive an SUV, I don't recycle, and I use styrofoam...but I THINK about the enviroment. I believe in Global Warming...and think that even if it's not real...that shouldn't give us a reason to be irresponsible.

I have to say...I voted for Barack Obama. I son't think of myself as a Demoract or Republican but I would say that I think a bit more liberally than say...my husband. Without giving you too much...or pissing anyone off... I think that being more understanding and accepting than critical and of people is a more Christain way of living.

But I'm a little upset with the way that President Obama has handled this thing. I know he's a politican but I actually thought that when we elected him, he was going to do things differently. I would be a little bit more intense when it came to issues. Really, President Obama...it's took you 58 days of oil spilling into the Gulf to address the nation? 58 DAYS!!!???

You couldn't come to us before now? You couldnt just come on and say to the American people that you are pissed and BP will pay? (And hopefully they will) I really think that this will get him beat in the next election...and I'll be honest...unless the Republicans nominate someone ridiculous...like Sarah Palin or Roy Blunt... I'll probably vote against him. He's bought into the Washinton CRAP!!! He's being so controlled by what everyone around thinks is "politcally correct" that I think he's CHANGED!!!

BOOOOOOOO Mr. President!!!

Now, I didn't watch the speech last night (I was, stead, watching Carrie Underwood and Craig Morgan dance around and entertain us on stage)...but I DID watch it this morning...and I thought it was okay. It wasn't anything too exciting. BUT... I LOVED what he said about the oil spill influencing our need to find a clean energy source.

2. You know, I was going to talk about Miley Cyrus and Perez Hilton, and Linsday Lohan next...now, there's a trio that probably should be illegal...oh wait...it is b/c Cryus is underage!! (p.s. That's why he's in trouble..apparently he posted a picture of Miley with no underwear...bad Perez!!...That's just gross!)

But instead, I think I will chat about something a little bit more "local" than dumping billions of gallons of oil in the Gulf of Mexico. I don't watch Days of Our Lives, but I do daily watch The View...

I don't agree with everything that all the women on the View say...in fact, I disagree with every single "View" about something. I may agree with Elizabeth on one thing but disagree with her on another. In my opinion (and that's what this post is all about)...
1. Elizabeth needs to calm down a bit...she's a bit radical about her conservatism. She says some things sometimes that I would not consider to be "christian" at all. But overall, she's okay.
2. Joy is wayyyyyyyyyyy too liberal. Somethings she says, I would like to throw something at the tv...
3. Whoopie is my fave!! I love the way that she plays devil's advocate.

But yesterday, I was so disappointed in Elizabeth. Kathy Griffen was the guest and I will admit...she is disgusting and, most of the time, is not very funny. But apparently, Kathy has said some things about Elizabeth (and Sherri for that matter) that were not very nice. First, Elizabeth was sooooooo unprofessional and just plain mean herself. Kathy is a comidienne and gets paid to do what she does...make fun of people! (She does it well....disrespectfully but well...she gets the rise out of people she wants)...

My question and point to this story is this...Do people really think this is a christian way of acting? Doesn't the Bible say to forgive all? Now, I will admit, I'm not the best at doing this...actually... I SUCK AT IT! But I'm trying to get better. But, frankly, I'm tired of people using God and christianty to bring judgement to their fellow man.

I know I probably didn't do very well at getting my point across...but I hope you get the point. Let's be more understanding of each other. Let's not judge but accept and maybe, through understanding, we can witness to those who need witnessing.

God Bless!!

Top Two Tuesdays

Over at The Undomestic Momma, today's Top 2 Tuesdays is...

TOP TWO GUILTY PLEASURES!!

1. Like the Undomestic Momma, I am guilty of loving everything (books, tv shows, movies, ect.) that is written for, filmed for, made for, and geared for tweens and teens.

My favorite tv shows will always be Saved By the Bell, Dawson's Creek, The OC, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, Glee, the Vampire Diaires... I dare to even say that I like the Sectret Life of the American Teenager!

My favorite movies of all time are those movies made for teens in the 1980s... Ferris Bueller's Day Off, 16 Candles, Pretty in Pink, St. Elmo's Fire, and of course....The Breakfast Club. But you can't forget the Twilight Series...and OMH...JUNE 30TH - Twilight Saga: Eclipse!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!

I also love the Twilight Series, The Vampire Diaries, the Nichols Sparks books.

Really... I know that I'm weird (or maybe normal b/c everyone else loves these things too)

2. My second guilty pleasure is... Ranch Dressing.
And yes...that is a ranch dressing fountain!

I pride myself on being a conisourrer (spelling) of ranch dressing. I probably can tell you the different ranch dressings from different resturants. For example: I LOVE McAlister's ranch dressing. Some ranch is better than others. I don't like Hidden Valley ranch...but I love Kraft's ranch.

Hope everyone has a good rest of the week!! God Bless!
